"Was walking down the river and i saw alittle girl crying. I went over by her and i asked her what was wrong. She kept crying so i called the police because i thought she was lost or somthing i pulled my hair back in a rubber band and she dissapeared. The next day i went walking sown that river and i saw her agin but different clothes. It scared me. i slowly walked away and as i was walking she walked behind me and was tugging on my shirt so i turned around and she vanished? she left me cluless i ran back to my house and set cameras on the river banks three days later i went to go get the cameras and they were all tiped over. i watched all the videos and it looked like someone was killing her. so i took the camera roll down to the police station and showed them later that day the police went investigating. I went along with them. when i got home there was blood all over my bed and writting on the wall that said you made a big mistake! Kreepy huh? and this is really true and to this day i still gett the chills talking about it."

"So, one of my favorite places to go and investigate is God's Acre Cemetary in Catlin, Illinois. It is the first cemetary in Vermillion County. I have been there several times both during the day and at night. It never fails that I will either get an image of something or a recording of something or simply catch something with my ears. I often here crying in the north-west corner. Within the tree on the south east corner there are always things walking around or at least it seems like it. That is where I have took several images. Read any of the gravestones you can. They are interesting. Also look up the names. I found out that many of the people buried in God's Acre were in the military or important towns workers(or their families). It is also a beautiful place just to check out. Still you never know what you might find. ((PS: Many of the trees out there are Honey Locust and they lose their huge needles. It you step on them they hurt A LOT so becareful where you step. Also there are hedge apples out there that you can pick up. They are helpful.))"

"a couple friends and i had heard stories about how niccum cemetary off of perrysville road outside of danville was supposedly haunted so we wanted to see for ourselves. so on november 27, 2010, we headed out there to begin our own investigation. what we found horrified us...we pulled into the cemetary after dark and sat (facing the exit) and waited for something to happen. after about 10 minutes of just sitting there, we decided to get out and look around the cemetary. well, one of my friends just took off walking through the cemetary in the pitch black night and did not respond to any of us no matter how much we tried talking to her. she just kept walking. so i decided to follow her. she stopped in front of niccums tombstone and just sat there staring at it for several minutes. when she snapped out of it, she had no idea where she was or what we were doing so we walked back to the truck and decided it would be best to leave. as we were driving back down the road in between the two cornfields, three lights seemed to appear out of nowhere and circle around the truck and disappear out of nowhere. once we got into a lighted area, we pulled over and got out of the truck and there were what seemed to be little childrens handprints all across the truck and three scratches that literally ran all the way around the truck. to this day, we have all continued to have paranormal experiences happen to us. on a few occasions, it was believed that some evil entity would posess those who came into the house with no prior knowledge of what had happened and they would become physically violent. things were so bad that a priest came into the house and blessed the house and attempted to perform an exorcism. to this day, i still have no idea who or what has been haunting us but a medium whom i had never met refused to come near me because i "have a black soul"
Ellen of Eagan, MN"My daughter (she's 15 years old) - she was looking for her hair bow (it's this huge bow that she wears for cheerleading - and it's tied onto this black pony tail/rubber band like piee) and since she hadn't found it with her other cheer stuff and needed it for the new season - we were all looking for it - couldn't find it. SHe woke up the next morning and felt/noticed it was put on her wrist !!! How weird is that..I told her she must have found it while sleep walking...but no way -she doesn't sleep walk and she didn't even have a mark from the black pony tail being on around her wrist...it was weird (almost like her guardian angel found it for her!!)"

"My story isn't about 1 encounter, yes I think I've had them. I didn't know it at the time. In most recent time, when we looked at the home we now live, I knew this was my home. I can't even explain the feeling. After moving in, my son, who was 8 at the time, would tell me about the woman that use to live here. Oh, by the way, the woman that did live here past away shortly before our purchuse. Her daughter made a commit to the realitor how her mom would be happy about a child being here. I took pictures of my son at times that after developing would have odd glowing blobs next to him. Unfortunitly, I thought it was a mistake in film and threw them out. I think she may have, and maybe still hides things from time to time. My story goes even deeper. How do I say, I may be in tune with things. I cant't just talk about it, people will think I'm nuts. I've been dealing with menopause. I've heard this can cause confussion with the paranormal. Can I explain how I know someone is calling other than saying,"I was just thinkin' about you." That's gettin' old. And there's my visits from my family, who's past. I'm cool with it all. If you can help, or if I can help you? Thanks!"

"The house I lived in when I was a kid has alot going on there. My sister had heard sounds of a door opening and shuting plus sounds of someone walking down stairs coming from the front room, were there was a door in the floor that lead to the basement, they even nailed it shut. When they moved out and my parents and I moved in I had several encounters and heard alot of sounds here. I could hear the foot steps up and down the stairs and the door opening in the floor. My room was up stairs, and I could hear the doors to the attics on each side of my room open, and at night as I am laying in my waterbed I could feel it move like someone was crawling inbeside me. There was one time when I was at home and my parents were at work, I had a few friends stop by, I was in my room listening to my stereo( ozzy ozbourne- crazy train) when I went down stairs and went outside I could hear my stero turn up, I went back inside and my stereo was full blast, so I went upstairs to turn it down, By the time I got to the bottom of the stairs it went up full blast again, I looked back up the stairs and I could see a dark figure moving around in my room( keep in mind I am the only one home and my freinds are outside in the driveway). The light to my room was in the middle of the room so you could see if someone was there from the stairs, when I went up there of course no one was there so I desided to turn my stereo off. I always had the feeling that someone was in the room with me, and it always felt creepy being home alone, you could hear foot steps, doors moving, but never heard voices. I think investigating this place would be great for your group. I would even like to be there to help!!"

"You probably have heard stories about St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, these stories are true, I worked for United Samaritans medical center as a Security Officer for four years on the second shift, between serving the logan campus and what was called Sager Campus (Old St. Elizabeths Hospital). There used to be a picture of the demolition of the old nuns hospital in a sealed case in the lobby of the hospital, you can clearly see in the rising dust of the demolition a completely clear untouched image of a nun within the dust. But that was normal of the area, these are real things that other workers will testify too if asked. and I will save the best for last. When we (security) would get a STAT call to one of the floors, we would approach an elevator on one of the floors and without touching the button, the door would automatically open, we used to get on and say for good luck, thank you Sister. There were numerous times were the elevators would take their own fate and run by themselves and we would have to chase them from floor to floor to get them to stop. One day I was on patrol on the second floor, which used to be the surgical and delivery ward, which was then abandoned except for big brothers big sisters and catholic services, Pearl (maintenance man and myself) were walking together down the hallway, as we passed a bathroom in the hall, we felt extremely cold air and the bathroom door slammed shut, Pearl actually jumped into my arms, you had to be there. There was always a feeling of being watched when you were there, and doors often opened and closed, or you felt the air moving were there were no vents. Now the freaky part, I am still amazed about. I attended Schlarman Catholic High School in the late 70's and had a school counsler by the name of John Mockitis, he was a super guy very caring, When I worked at Sager Campus, I was walking through what was called Cardiac rehab, where patients go to improve their heart condition, when the patients graduated from the program they took a polariod picture and put it on the bulletin board, I was looking at the pictures and saw Mr Mockitas picture on the board, after 25 yrs it brought back a lot of memories, Several months later, Mr. Mockitas was driving his bicycle down henning road in danville and was struck by a driver of a pickup and died. I went to work and was reading the obituary, it said he passed away at 5:02. I felt like I needed to see his picture one more time, I really liked the teacher, I went into the rehab room and his picture was still hanging on the board with others, as I looked at the picture, above his left shoulder in the picture on the wall was a round standard clock, the time on the clock in the picture was 5:02. I then felt like I was in a freezer, someone around here has than picture when they closed the rehab center. I dont think it was a coincendence and will never will."

"Last night, I was sleeping in bed. When I woke up, the lights were on in my bedroom. The lights are the kind you twist on. They were off when I went to sleep. This is the first occurrence since we moved in the house. We have only lived here for just about a year or so. I have always felt that feeling of someone following me since we moved in."

"I grew up in a centuries old house for 15 or 16 years. Everything was calm and gentle. No sounds and no pain only fun and laughs. Until about 2003 when i was eleven years old. At the time, I was still scared of thunderstorms but that was the least of my problems. I was scared and ran into my mothers room and slept on the keft side of her bed. My mother fell asleep but I was still awake. I looked out of her bedroom door and as the lightening flashed, I noticed a beautiful ghostly figure standing outside her door. She wore a red dress and had long curly brown hair. Her skin was a light brown color and her eyes were brown. She stopped and looked at me for the moment. I was drenched in fear. I tried to look away but couldn't. Then she looked away from me and continued walking into the living room.

"I grew up in a nice house in a small town. My older sisters and brother used to tease me about the lady who died in the house. I asked my mom about it and she said yes it was true. The husband built the house for his wife and she became ill with cancer. She died in the house (front bedroom) after a lengthy illness. Her husband had installed a bell (kind of like the ones used in hospitals) so she could rouse him during the night if she needed anything. When my grandfather died, my Grandma came to live with us. She was in her 80's and just didn't want to go on anymore. If she needed anything during the night, she was to ring the buzzer and one of us would help her. She never did use the buzzer (hard headed determination) and she died shortly after moving in. She did not die in the house. About a week after her funeral, I was awakened in the middle of the night by the buzzer. I stumbled from bed and crossed the hallway. I had to reach into the room to turn on the light. At the same time I saw the empty bed, my brain said, "Grandma died." I ran across the house to parents room and woke them up. I was so scared. My mother said I was dreaming and to just go back to bed. However, the buzzer continued to ring and finally after hearing it herself (she was alone in the house at the time) she had my Dad disconnect the wiring.

"In the city of Pittsfield, there is an old school building, now acting as our historical society, named East School Historical Society and Museum. It is open to tours, not exactly sure when, it does vary, with season of course. For years, I have heard people talk of this building as haunted. When I was a Sophomore in high school, I got a lesson that it actually really is. Not only is the building an actual museum, historical society but also is home to the Pike County Theatre Guilde, which is located on the second level. I was in Illinois History and we went there for a tour, which we would get to see the whole building, and it is a monster of a building too, it is 4 stories I do believe. We went in, and looked around the first floor for awhile then proceeded up to the next level. We were in the theatre guild and I was in the back, behind the stage looking around, I was getting ready to go into one of the dressing rooms. Something else had other ideas. I got past that threshold of the door, and I was met with an ice cold hand to my chest. I could not force myself to go in any further, but I did try once, but the pressure was just unbearable, and I literally lost all strength for a minute, just long enough to get pushed out of the doorway, and as I got far enough back, the pressure released off of my chest and the door closed. I did find out later that I was trying to go into the female dressing room.

"Since I was 10 I've been having paranormal experiences. I moved to Chicago when I was 13 and the experiences have become more intense now that I'm 22. Moving doesn't change anything when you feel like a portal.
